When two fashion industry queens have a public spat on stage, you know it's time to grab the popcorn.
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and supermodel Naomi Campbell majorly got into it at Harlem's Fashion Row Fashion Show and Style Awards in New York City, and yes, there's video footage.
Naomi was there to accept the 'Fashion Icon' award - which Anna was meant to be presenting to her - except there appeared to have been some timing issues.
Anna took the stage and told the audience Naomi was "often late", before she got sick of waiting for the supermodel and asked Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr to present the award instead.
Naomi eventually showed up, accepted her award and took a major swipe at Anna in her speech.
"It wasn't my choice to have the other lady," she said, referring to Anna. "I'd much rather have this," she added, gesturing to Samira.
Talk about draaaaaama!
The audience was gagged. You can even hear a man audibly go "OOOOP!".
Naomi and Anna have been collaborators for decades, so everyone was shooketh at this public display of passive aggression. One commenter on X pointed out "there's a well-documented history of Anna Wintour supporting Naomi, notably by fighting to get Campbell on the September 1999 cover of American Vogue".
"This indicates a long-standing professional relationship where Anna has played a pivotal role in Campbell's career," they added.
Others were already contemplating the consequences of the beef, with one comment suggesting "Naomi might not come to the next Met Gala after that" because as we all know, Anna is in charge of the guest list.
Some commended Naomi's shade, saying "she's never one to let a comment slide, especially when it comes to her time and presence".
We'd simply hate to think we might not see Naomi slaying the red carpet at next year's Met Gala, but we'd be lying if we said we haven't enjoyed the drama. 👀
