2024 is shaping up to be the worst year ever for quad bike-related injuries and deaths, with 12 deaths already recorded as of August 6, 2024.
Lindy Nelson from Safer Farms sheds light on the alarming increase in quad bike fatalities, arguing that quad bikes are "not fit for purpose" on farms without essential roll bars.
She has since started a campaign for Crush Protection Devices that has seen overwhelming success, with over 1,200 applications for subsidised roll bars flooding in within 36 hours.
Nelson addresses farmers' concerns and debunks myths about crush protection, emphasising data-driven solutions to improve safety. She calls for a future where quad bikes come equipped with safety features and urges continued support for initiatives like Safer Farms.
