Netflix is looking at a cheaper subscription option with one feature we're not to keen on.
Ads...
The streaming service is looking at bringing in ads as a way to offer cheaper subscriptions for those about tight on cash.
Co-CEO Reed Hastings revealed the plans saying in the past they've been 'against the complexity of advertising, and a big fan of the simplicity of subscription'.
"But as much as I am a fan of that, I am a bigger fan of consumer choice. And allowing consumers who would like to have a lower price, and are advertising-tolerant, get what they want, makes a lot of sense," telling the company during their quarterly earnings call.
Luckily, the change isn't set to happen soon, with the company still figuring out how exactly the new option will work.
The new subscription option comes as Netflix hustles to find ways to bring in more users after it was reported they had lost 200,000 subscribers in the first three months of the year.
