Kiwi Auctioneers Ready To Shine In National Young Auctioneers Competition

"You've got to know your markets and your buyers," Withers says.

The New Zealand Young Auctioneers Competition is set to get underway next week, happening Tuesday, November 5, showcasing the next generation of Auctioneers.

A seasoned auctioneer and organiser of the NZ Young Auctioneers Competition, Mick Withers, shares insights into the event's format, where nine young competitors will demonstrate their prowess in both interviews and live auctions.

Withers highlights the distinct differences between Kiwi and Aussie auctioneers, noting that Kiwis have a more "freestyle" approach, unlike the "standardised" methods in Australia.

He believes this unique style allows New Zealand auctioneers to infuse humour and personality into their sales, promising a lively atmosphere with enticing prizes, celebrating the vibrant agricultural market in Canterbury.
