Innovations In Agriculture: Transforming Drylands + Rethinking Nitrogen Use

"Nitrate in the wrong place is bad; nitrate in the right place is good," Professor Moot says.

Professor Derek Moot from Lincoln University recently attended the NZ Grasslands Association Conference in Oamaru.

He discusses how strategic irrigation transformed drought-stricken land into a productive agricultural hub and highlights the vital trust among farmers, scientists, and consultants in driving success.

He also tackles nitrogen management, and with 40% of the global population reliant on nitrogen fertilisers, he examines their role in regenerative agriculture.
