Cal got to see the Weeknd live in Chile and here's what he NEEDS you to know about the show

From the incredible production to the non-stop bangers, this show is not one to miss!

ICYMI, I was lucky enough to fly to Chile in South America to see The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour last week.

From the incredible production to the non-stop bangers, this show is not one to miss.

I will say, over in Chile. they DON'T SERVE ALCOHOL at the stadiums??? Which honestly as a New Zealander I thought was whack, but i'll tell you what, even stone cold sober without the buzz of a couple of cheeky bevs, The Weeknd does not disappoint.

We all know that Abel has an insane catalogue of tunes, but when he's playing back-to-back bangers for two and a half hours, you realise this man is a helluva lot more than just a handful of radio hits.

About halfway through the show, I thought he must have played all his biggest hits and the show was about to finish until he said "Alright Santiago, we're just getting started".

The man was right - because he continued for another hour or so with songs I forgot he even had, but still went so hard.

If you're an OG fan, don't worry, the setlist caters to you too, because he makes sure to include some of his very old songs (call me a fake fan 'cause I didn't know them, oops!)

The sheer scale of this concert was next-level. Not only were there sizable flames being shot off the stage, there was a GIANT inflatable moon, and a maaassive naked female robot in the middle of the stage that shot lasers out of its eyes whilst rotating throughout the show. So if you ever got bored of looking at The Weeknd (which you didn't, because he never stops moving) everywhere you look there is a spectacle.

Now a quick warning to anybody who gets floor standing seats - keep the layers LIGHT because the flames that get shot from the stage are impressive, and I could feel the intense heat even while I was seated up in the stands.

The entire experience made me feel euphoric - and despite being totally sober, the lights, stage set up and spectacle of the whole thing paired with the absolute tunes made it feel like a trip.

I also have a new favourite song by The Weeknd now - 'Take My Breath'. I always liked it, but hearing it live just added a new level to it. My God, I'm obsessed and ever since the concert, it's been on REPEAT.

This was without a doubt one of the best concerts I've ever been to and if you plan on seeing him when he comes to lil old Aotearoa, I will see you there! I am 100% going again - it was just THAT GOOD.
