Appointed as the new CEO of OSPRI just two weeks ago, Sam McIvor chats to Dom about how he is finding the new job.
He highlights the successful eradication of M. bovis in New Zealand, applauding the biosecurity efforts in New Zealand keeping the dangerous disease at bay, but emphasising the steps that need to continue to be taken in order to maintain this status.
McIvor also discusses the strategic control of possum populations as a critical part of TB eradication efforts, stressing the importance of strong partnerships between the government, industry, and farmers in overcoming biosecurity challenges.
