Metallica have announced they're set to release more rare live performances from the 'Black Album' era for fans to enjoy.
In an email to fans on Jan 6th, the band wrote: "With the help from the archivists at The Metallica Black Box, our friends at nugs.net are bringing back the Wherever We May Roam livestream series from a year ago."
A video of the archived footage will be streamed every Monday and Sunday for the next five weeks, with the first one being released at 2pm NZT today via nugs.net. Each performance spans from 1991-1993 and includes live performances from many corners of the globe.
You'll have to watch each stream live via nugs.net, or if you're a subscriber you can watch it later. If you're not keen to pay for a subscription but have a particular performance you're keen to watch, you can sign up for a free 7-day-trial.
Metallica also issued a heads-up about the quality of the streams, saying:
"If you remember these shows, you know they aren't the polished productions you'll find today.
"This standard definition footage comes from Betacam tapes with the occasional camera dropout, and the audio is straight from the soundboard.
"But these shows aren't just a time capsule from the '90s anymore; they've gotten some modern upgrades, including a new, extended edit and mastered audio by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering."
