Madonna fans sue popstar for 'false advertising' her concert

Two New York fans are suing the 'Material Girl' after they attended her tour in December

Madonna is being sued by two fans for starting her concerts two hours late.

The singer's late start to her New York concerts in December has resulted in a lawsuit being filed against her.

Her Brooklyn show was due to start at 8.30pm, but the Material Girl singer didn't take the stage until 10.30pm.

Ticket buyers Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden claim this left them "stranded in the middle of the night" and "confronted with limited public transportation" options.

The lawsuit also states that the late finish to the show meant they "had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day."

The men said they would not have bought tickets if they'd known the show wasn't starting until later than advertised.

The lawsuit, which was obtained by TMZ said: "Defendants' actions constitute not just a breach of their contracts . but also a wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices."

The lawsuit also includes a claim of "negligent misrepresentation", saying the concert organisers "knew or should have known" that the concerts would not start at 8:30pm because of alleged past instances of Madonna taking the stage late.

In the first leg of her US tour earlier in the year, Madonna was slammed for starting her show at 11pm instead of 8.30pm. The delay was blamed on technical issues. Organisers said the start time had only been delayed by one hour as the opening act, DJ Honey Dijon, took the stage at 8:30pm.

The Celebration Tour covers all of Madonna's biggest hits.
