Get ready to boogie, because one of the most iconic pieces of movie history is about to hit the auction block.
The white suit that John Travolta rocked so well in 'Saturday Night Fever' is going to be up for grabs later this month, being auctioned off in California between April 22 and April 23.
The auction's listing describes the suit as "one of the most iconic costumes in the history of cinema". The auction organisers have deemed it a true gem, with only two polyester suits being used in the entire film production.
In the 1977 dance drama, Travolta plays the role of Tony Manero, a young Italian-American from Brooklyn who uses his epic dance moves to escape the harsh realities of his life.
The classic film became an instant hit and helped to popularise disco music around the world, with Travolta even receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Actor Oscar after showing off such a groovy performance.
The monochromatic dance-off ensemble is expected to make waves with a jaw-dropping estimate of up to US$200,000 (NZ$317,600), the suit including letters of authenticity from Paramount Studios and Travolta himself.
If only I had enough money to bid, I could finally live out my dream of being a disco king... or at least look the part while I embarrass myself on the dance floor.
The upcoming auction will feature several other items as well, including Harrison Ford's machete from 1984 hit Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the iconic hoverboard ridden by Michael J. Fox in the cult classic Back to the Future 2 from 1989, and a sleek Iron Man Mark XLVI helmet sported by Robert Downey Jr. in the 2016 blockbuster Captain America: Civil War.
So even if you don't fancy Travolta's flashy suit, it looks like the rest of these bidding wars will be going to be sky-high prices.
Time to dig into that retirement fund, I guess.
