GoFundMe set up for 'Succulent Chinese Meal' bloke after being diagnosed with cancer

"What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?"

The Aussie bloke who famously ate a 'succulent chinese meal' back in 1991 has had a GoFundMe set up for him after sadly being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I'm sure I don't need to jog your memory on who this icon is, but my boss has told me that I really should put some context in my articles just incase - so here's a quick re-cap.

The 'Succulent Chinese Meal' man became a viral hit back in 2009, after a video was uploaded of him being escorted out of a restaurant by Australian police who apparently thought he was someone he was not, the bloke told LADBible years later.

"Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest!

"What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?

"Get your hand off my penis!" are just a few of the famous quotes the bloke said in the viral video, which was filmed in 1991.

Years later, the bloke was identified as Jack Karlson, from Queensland, Australia.

Sadly, Karlson has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer - and now, his niece Kim has set up a GoFundMe to help with his medical costs, getting him to and from appointments and other general living costs.

"I know Jack's video has given a lot of people joy and he has inspired many memes, t-shirts and other things over the years but Jack himself is doing it quite tough," Kim wrote on the GoFundMe page.

"Hoping people can dig deep – I think he's worth at least a beer, maybe even a 6-pack."

Karlson's provided a lot of entertainment over the years - and I'm not just talking about the original viral 'Democracy Manifest' video.

Back in 2020, Aussie punk rock band The Chats released a song called 'Dine N Dash,' where they roped Karlson into recreating the viral moment for the song's music video.

Plus earlier this year, NZ's very own Guy Williams hunted Karlson down for an episode of New Zealand Today.

What a bloke.
