Basking in the glow of Valentine’s Day, the Auckland Rainbow Parade returns to Ponsonby bringing diversity, unity, respect, celebration, inclusion and loads of colour on Saturday, 15 February 2025.
Make it a whole weekend of loving by adding it to your calendar - there is no bigger reason to celebrate love than by attending this inclusive and diverse event – and there is no better time to show your support for marginalised communities. Wear your most colourful clothes, sprinkle some glitter, wave those rainbow flags and bring the whole family to dance, smile and enjoy the pizzazz that the Parade brings! If there’s a proposal on the cards – maybe this is the place to do it!
There will be representatives from all parts of the LGBTQIA+ communities, public services and corporate businesses showing their commitment to a community that is inclusive and diverse with energy, creativity, humour and fun.
If you notice a bit more sparkle than normal, you can thank Woolworths who have generously donated $10,000 following its involvement in 2024. It has been used to support more rainbow communities in bringing extra flair, glitz and glamour.
Parade Event Manager Shaughan Woodcock says, “This is one of the most colourful parades in Auckland and in a world that seems to be becoming more divided, there’s something special when you bring everyone together to celebrate love and kindness no matter what colour you identify with. It’s a vibrant spectacle that has something for everyone and it is well worth celebrating!”
Street entertainment starts at 530pm which will include big flair, big hair, sounds and sparkle! The Parade kicks off at Tole Street at 730pm with the parade finishing at Western Park at approximately 930pm.
