Some Kiwi fellas have gone viral for documenting their massive fishing trip, the kind every New Zealander who loves being on the water dreams about.
Stef The Maori uploaded the adventure to his TikTok. He cuts down the four-day trip into just eight minutes and trust me, it is worth the watch.
"Looks like there's trouble brewing in the north," Stef said to start the video. If by trouble he meant some massive feeds, bigger catches and plenty of beers, he was right.
Before they set sail, Stef showed off the pantry, fridge and kitchen.
"About a litre of cream, 3 - 4kg of cheese, heaps of butter, fuck loads of meat, 50 kgs of venison," he said. "You'd think we can't catch a fucking fish."
Aboard their boat 'Atarua', the fellas travelled from Whangaroa to Port Nikau. On the second morning, they took the dinghy out to a kina hotspot and returned successfully.
"You go on that side of the boat 'cause my fat ass is coming on board," said the kina hunting fella.
"Alright," replied Stef. "That's the only thing you're coming on."
The diving bloke then holds up two massive crayfish, which he caught alongside plenty of kina.
"The boys are eating tonight - if she doesn't eat me first," he said.
Between all that great chat - including the crack-up "flying dick lure" - the food they cook up looks unreal. Here are some of the feeds they made:
Venison backstraps
Bread and butter salad
Kewpie mayo and wasabi dipping sauce
Crayfish
Whitebait fritters
'Atarua' version of a charcuterie board
Afternoon breakfast burgers
Creamy mushrooms
Raw fish
PeruPeru potatoes
Kina crumpets w/ strawberry jam
Toasted crayfish croissants
If you're not keen on a summer boat trip with the lads after seeing that, ya never will be.
