WATCH: First Official Trailer For Game Of Thrones Prequel Series Is Here

Dragons, fighting, a quest for the throne, and more dragons.

The first official trailer for 'House of the Dragon' - the prequel to the hit TV show 'Game of Thrones' - has just dropped and there are knights, sword fights, kids wanting to be king, and plenty of dragon action.

The series, based on George R.R. Martin's 'Fire & Blood' books, takes place around 200 years before the original series and follows House Targaryen.

Say what you will about how 'GOT' ended, but this trailer does look pretty damn good. The world of Westeros looks as incredible as ever, and the battle for the Iron Throne between brother and sister is looking like a doozy - plus you gotta love a good dragon fight.

Martin talked to The Hollywood Reporter after viewing nine of the ten episodes of the show's first season and he seems pretty pumped up about it.

"[The characters] are all flawed. They're all human. They do good things. They do bad things. They're driven by lust for power, jealousy, old wounds - just like human beings. Just like I wrote them."

The cast contains some familiar faces, including Matt Smith (Doctor Who) who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, the heir to the throne and son of the king. Smith said that "there's a sort of strange, sensitive nature to Daemon and quite a genuine loyalty to him and humanistic qualities that you can peel away and see."

That king, King Viserys Targaryen, is played by Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz) and is "a good man but a bad king in that he's trying to please everybody," Considine told The Hollywood Reporter.

Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) is Alicent Hightower, the daughter of the Hand of the King.

The show is set to release on the 22nd of August on SoHo channel on Sky, as well as being available to stream on Neon and Sky Go. Strap in team, the world of Game of Thrones is back.
