The viral McDonald's Grimace shake is finally coming to NZ - but what's the flavour?

I'm ready to solve the mystery!

A viral McDonald’s item that took TikTok by storm last year is finally landing in NZ to shake things up.

The Grimace shake took off on TikTok last year and, I, for one, have been begging for a taste of the purple drink.

If you have no idea what I’m on about, Ronald McDonald’s giant purple pal - who’s meant to be a walking taste bud - celebrated his birthday in the US with his very own milkshake.

It blew up online with memes, taste tests and straight up bizarre content about the purple drink dominating TikTok. It even made its way to our mates across the ditch, but remained out of reach for Kiwi shake-lovers.

Fast forward to now, and the shake is finally making its way to New Zealand on October 23rd, so we can see what all the fuss is about.

So, what does the Grimace Shake actually taste like? Well, we haven’t been told just yet, but it just dropped over in Aussie and people have been giving us their reviews.

TikToker @alexdavidson_ gave it a try and compared it to cotton candy.

“It’s like sweet, grape, blueberry, fruity kind of vibe,” she said.

The flavour also left @sashatyers_ confused. “What is that?” she asked before taking a few more sips.

She also agreed on the fruity and grape-flavoured front, claiming the taste is “addictive”.

I don’t know about you, but I’m keen to solve the mystery when it drops here!
