'The Crown' reveals first images of Prince William and Kate Middleton

"He looks more like Prince William than Prince William looks like Prince William."

The highly-anticipated sixth and final season of the Netflix series, 'The Crown', is just around the corner and Netflix has dropped fans a sneak peek.

The sneak peek revealed never-before-seen pictures of the young Prince William and Kate Middleton (now the Princess of Wales), during their early dating days.

23-year-old actor, Ed McVey, plays the young Prince William and 19-year-old Meg Bellamy plays the young Kate.

Netflix hopes to take fans on a journey through the couple's earlier years at St Andrew's University as they both embark on their studies.

The storyline shows fans how the couple first crossed paths on campus and how - even with Prince William "determined to lead as normal a life as possible while he still can" - his romance with Kate leads the paparazzi into a frenzy.

After the images were released, fans of the series couldn't stop themselves from giving their opinion on Netflix's choice of casting.

Some fans were left in awe at just how eerily similar the actors looked to the real-life duo while others weren't as convinced.

"He looks more like Prince William than Prince William looks like Prince William," one user joked.

"He's a pretty good William," another commented.

"The casting director needs a raise," said a third.

"Disagree. I looked at both of them and thought:đŸ€ŠđŸ»???," one fan disagreed.

"William looks like William, Kate is a bit of a stretch," another said.

Honestly, I think it's way too soon to judge - we haven't even watched the first episode yet!

Let's just sit tight and keep our fingers crossed that they'll do a royally good job at playing their parts - and give us a performance fit for a king or queen.
