Rubik's Cube is one of the most iconic things from the '80s! It was first internationally released in 1980, originally invented by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik.
To celebrate the '80s Countdown this Friday August 19, Robert Scott tracked down Jeff Verasano who was the Rubik's Cube world record holder in 1981.
Jeff Verasano shared his experience post breaking a record and even showed his tricks!
After setting his incredible record on October 3 1981 of 24.67 seconds,he got opportunities to do "all kinds of talk shows like "Good Morning America"
For someone like us who takes quite some time to even solve one side, it was really impressive to watch him solve the entire cube in just 25 seconds. He is as fast as he was back in the day!
He casually solves it while talking with Robert Scott. Meanwhile, most of us lower the music to see better while parking or reversing.
He also proceeded to show another incredible trick that we can only dream of doing.
He first took one Rubik's cube and scrambled it.
"My eyes are closed. I'm not looking" Jeff said while scrambling the cube.
He then took another Rubik's cube and scrambled it exactly the same way the previous one was. Every color was placed exactly the way the first was!
"This is such a great bar trick in my restaurant," Jeff told Robert Scott showing his trick.
Jeff Verasano, 55 currently owns a restaurant 'Verasano's Pizzeria' in Atlanta, Georgia.
