Ozzy Osbourne has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - for a second time - and was celebrated with performances of ‘Crazy Train,’ ‘Mama I’m Coming Home’ and ‘No More Tears’ from a bunch of rock legends.
The Prince of Darkness was first inducted in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath, but this time was inducted as a solo artist, and was awarded his honour by actor and Tenacious D frontman Jack Black.
Black described Ozzy as "the greatest frontman in the history of rock 'n' roll,” also saying “this motherfker invented heavy metal ... the darkest, heaviest shit the world had ever heard."
Seated on a throne, Osbourne accepted his award to a standing ovation. "I can't believe I'm here myself," he said. "My fans have been so loyal to me over the years, I can't thank them enough."
Ozzy also thanked Randy Rhoads, his wife Sharon, his children and “grandbabies.”
Following his acceptance speech, an incredible line-up of rockstars took the stage to honour Ozzy.
The line-up included RHCP’s Chad Smith, Metallica’s (and former Ozzy bassist) Robert Trujillo, producer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Watt, and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.
Tool’s Maynard James Keenan and Wolfgang Van Halen joined them onstage for a performance of ‘Crazy Train,’ before Zakk Wylde and Jelly Roll headed to the stage for ‘Mama I’m Coming Home.’
For the third song, ‘No More Tears,’ Billy Idol took on vocals, alongside Idol’s longtime guitarist Steve Stevens.
While Ozzy couldn’t perform due to his medical issues, he did kick off the performance of ‘Crazy Train’ by screaming the iconic line "All aboard!" before the band launched into the tune.
This induction makes Osbourne the 27th artist to be included more than once, joining luminaries such as John Lennon, Stevie Nicks and Neil Young.
