NZ's most popular 'dream job' Googled by Kiwis in 2024 is absolutely sending us

You don't even need a degree!

The Welsh aspire to be Paramedics. Japanese youngsters are gunning for pharmaceutical school. Kiwis? Well, we want to chuck a two channel controller on the course-related costs and train to be the next Chase or Status.

Yes, that's right. In a world of many career opportunities, New Zealanders are eager to become DJs, according to Remitly’s 'Dream Jobs' Map.

The colour-coded world map points out “the career each county desires the most, according to Google search data.” NZ are shown in bright green and labelled 'DJ'.

It's not just us, though. DJ had a whopping 109,650 ‘how to be a…’ searches globally, and ranked at #3 in the arts and culture dream job section, below #2 - Voice actor and #1 - Actor.

Of course, our Aussie mates are also dreaming of DJ stardom, along with Canada, Ireland, India and Hungry. I think we can blame a few names here *cough cough* Fisher, Kaytranada and Kettama *cough cough*.

Topping the charts as the number one most popular career was ‘pilot’, which held onto the number one spot from 2023.

Stepping into the cockpit remains a dream for thousands around the world, with over 432,360 searches for ‘how to be a pilot’ (and its translations) in the past year alone.

Keep up the good work Aotearoa, love to see you that so many of you are keen on becoming a certified party starter!
