New Legislation Boosts Wine Tourism

"This bill has been fantastic," says Doonan. "We are now able to charge for tastings at the Seddon."

Back in April 2024, Stuart Smith spoke to REX about the introduction of the Sale + Supply of Alcohol (Winery Cellar Door Tasting) Amendment Bill to do with winery cellar door tasting.

The bill passed its third reading last month which Tūpari Wines General Manager Olivia Doonan tells Dom is great news for wineries around the country.

She highlights the exciting opportunities this could create across the industry, allowing wineries to charge for tastings without serving food, even if the cellar door is off-site.

Doonan also delves into Tūpari Wines' plans for the future, including how the harvest is going this year and managing succession.
