Kiwi Cattle Breeder Thriving In The UK + Beyond

"If I look back at five-year-old me leading a calf, it's quite exciting really," Doggett reflects.

Cara Doggett is a Kiwi working in the UK beef breeding industry and is heading off to the World Hereford Conference in Kansas next year, representing the UK Hereford Society in the Young Breeders Competition.

Doggett talks about managing her Hereford herd in the UK as well as a thriving Shorthorn stud in New Zealand alongside her supportive father.

She reflects on her rural upbringing, highlighting her first calf club event at age five as the catalyst for her current career, despite admitting she could never have predicted where it would lead her.

As she prepares to return to New Zealand for Christmas, Doggett discusses plans to downsize her herd and purchase a new breeding bull with her father's help.
