If you've ever experienced the pain of your glass perfume bottle breaking in your handbag, this hack will have you reaching for your chapstick ASAP - but not to use on your lips.
Instagram user @ira.motherhood shared the video so others could "create a mini version of their favourite perfume".
After scooping the Vaseline out of the stick, Ira melts down the contents in a pot placed on the stove and then sprays perfume over the mix after the contents have been liquified. She then pours the product back into the tube and refrigerates it for 10 minutes.
The result? A light perfume stick that can be thrown into your bag.
One commenter pointed out that "this is an airport security hack for real" while another agreed saying "this is so smart".
Some already knew about this hack, with one commenter saying "this is what we used to do in the 70's".
Not everyone was impressed with some being worried about the Vaseline texture "picking up every piece of dust and dirt" while on your skin.
Vaseline Chapstick retails for $4 in NZ - so it's a super affordable hack to give a go - even if you mess it up.
You can even try your hand at bejewelling the tube by using coloured rhinestones from the 2-dollar shop.
You'll feel like Bill Nye The Science Guy creating this concoction.just don't burn your house down in the process.
