From Farm Fields To Parliament: Miles Anderson's First Term As A Rural MP

"My biggest motivation was seeing farmers and the business sector getting a raw deal. You could sit around and whinge about it or do something, and here I am," Anderson says.

Miles Anderson, MP for the Waitaki electorate, chats to Dom about his journey from farming to politics.

Anderson talks about representing the vast rural constituency of North Otago and South Canterbury and the unique challenges that come with it, as well as his transition from Federated Farmers to championing agricultural and business interests in Parliament.

He delves into significant issues like boundary realignments and the new office in Wanaka, while also touching on the demanding travel schedule that keeps him away from home most of the week.

Anderson reflects on balancing political life with personal sacrifices, especially following the recent loss of his brother, David.
