CleanTok: The best cleaning gadgets from Kmart NZ that went viral on TikTok

If only they had something that could do the work for me.

Spring is here, and with it comes the annual dreaded deep clean, where we finally tackle all the chores we've been putting off.

After falling down many TikTok rabbit holes about cleaning hacks and gadgets, I finally feel motivated to give my place a thorough scrub.

And because I won’t keep it to myself, here’s a roundup of some viral products from Kmart NZ that are trending on TikTok, designed to tackle everything from the stains on the couch to the bathroom tile grout.

Here are the best viral CleanTok products available in NZ:

Spot Cleaner (dupe of Rug Doctor) - $109

Most of us live comfortably unaware of how dirty our couches, carpets, and rugs really are. But when you clean them, the amount of filth that comes out is shocking.

This spot cleaner has become so popular that it’s often sold out both online and in-store.

Kiwi TikToker @mama2four__m.kite tried it with just alkaline water—no chemicals—and it still pulled out way more dirt than expected.

“The devil works hard, but so does my Kmart Spot Cleaner,” said another TikToker who pulled an unreal amount of dirt from her car seats using the same machine.

OXX Bodycare Hand Sanitiser (dupe of the Touchland Hand Sanitiser Mist) - $5

Sanitising mists are the new viral trend for staying clean on the go.

Touchland’s hand sanitisers have popped up in many "car essentials" TikToks, but like most MEGA viral products over in the US, they're not available in NZ.

Kmart has dropped four dupes in Sweet Peach, Coconut, Watermelon and Grapefruit scents for half the price. They’ve even got a key ring to save space in our handbags - which reminds me, I need to clean that out too.

Handheld Steam Cleaner - $39

If there’s one thing that #cleantok has taught me, it’s that steam cleaning is a game-changer.

TikToker @itrere_ put Kmart’s steamer to the test in her bathroom, tackling everything from the basin to grout.

The results are incredible, but she does forewarn that it “takes a bit of manpower” to get the job done.

“I had in my head that it would be a lot quicker and easier than it was,” she added.

Others found it more useful for cleaning upholstery and loved how multipurpose it was.

Handheld Scrubbing Brush - $35

You might’ve already seen the scrubbing brushes going viral for being a godsend at scrubbing away the dirt from between tiles and getting rid of soap scum from shower glass.

The gadget is battery-powered, meaning less hassle not being able to reach the corners of your house or getting tangled on any furniture.

Look at the results this TikToker got from using it on her white tiled shower stained by her brunette shampoo.

Thermal Sponges (dupe of the Scrub Daddy) - $6

For how often a Scrub Daddy comes in handy, stocking up on Kmart’s dupe seems like a no-brainer when it comes to having a more affordable version lying around the house. Similar to the popular sponge, Kmart’s thermal sponge is also made of thermal material which stays firm in cool water and soft in warm water.

Plus, they come in different shapes - a cat and a flower - which makes it easier to not mix up your cleaning and dishwashing sponges. I know I’ve made that mistake before…

With all this chat, I might actually get some of my own cleaning done rather than watching 14 hours of influencers doing it!
