Aussie Farmers Fight Back Against Wild Dogs

"Once you take your foot off the pedal, that's when the problems start," Power says.

Chair of the National Wild Dog Action Plan Committee and New South Wales farmer Geoff Power shares his insights into combating the wild dog menace threatening Australian agriculture.

Despite the wild dog issue costing the economy roughly $90 million annually, Power explains that varying state laws, with some regions protecting wild dogs, are causing tension among farmers.

He delves into the different ways farmers are trying to protect their land, using exclusion fencing and baiting programs, especially in South Australia, where these measures have significantly reduced dingo numbers.

Power also highlights the importance of collaboration and shared strategies in overcoming these obstacles.
