A song fit for Bridgerton!
Singer Alanis Morissette has teamed up with streaming service Netflix to give a live 'Bridgerton' performance of her hit song 'You Oughta Know'.
The TV series, which often uses hit pop songs and rearranges them for a slower string quartet fit for the Bridgerton era, used Alanis's song in the fifth episode of the second season. In that scene, Jonathan Bailey's character Anthony Bridgerton is sitting in a bathtub while Simone Ashley's Kate Sharma is out on horseback, contemplating Anthony's upcoming marriage to Kate's sister Edwina.
A fitting soundtrack as Alanis's performance under a magnolia tree reflects with clips of Anthony and Kate's journey to fall in love.
Other instrumental versions that appeared in season 2 of Bridgerton included Madonna's "Material Girl," Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" and Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times" .
"The show is a re-imagining. It's a twist on the period pieces we're all used to seeing. So, I knew that same modern lens that I was examining everything else through had to go for the music as well," series creator Chris Van Dusen told People.
The popular Netflix series has already been renewed for a season three and four, and will continue following the lives of the Bridgerton family, similar to the popular book series.
